Commercial Conditions
Our prices include:
- Full coverage without excess (except for special groups) and always in compliance with current traffic regulations. In case of negligence on the part of the renter, the coverage shall not be comprehensive. Negligent driving shall be considered as that which is done in violation of the traffic regulations in force. In case the damages caused to the vehicle are a consequence of such negligence, it will be reflected in the contract when returning the vehicle, damages that will be signed by the client as proof of its existence and within 5 days the company will send a repair estimate to the client to the designated email, which will indicate the reason for the negligence and the amount of the damages, so that the client proceeds to its payment.
SOLCAR vehicles include full comprehensive insurance, provided there is no negligence on the part of the driver.
This comprehensive insurance does NOT include damage to tires and rims, being the responsibility of the driver to repair such damage.
The comprehensive insurance includes towing service up to a radius of 50 kilometers. SOLCAR reserves the right to decide which garage or dealer to take the vehicle to.

Important information:
- The driver must present a valid driver’s license and an identity card or passport upon delivery of the vehicle.
A driver’s license issued in a language with a non-Latin alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.) must be supplemented with an international driver’s license.
- SOLCAR accepts all major credit cards such as Amex, Visa, Diners, etc.
Upon delivery of the vehicle, payment must be made by CREDIT CARD. If you wish to pay in cash, the customer must show a credit card. The credit card must be in the name of the person named as the main driver on the rental contract.
- The rental made is not necessarily linked to a specific vehicle (make, model, etc.) but to a group of vehicles with similar technical and habitability characteristics.
- SOLCAR reserves the right to cancel the delivery of the vehicle in case of doubts about the customer’s financial capacity or solvency or in case of a history of non-payment or serious incidents with the customer. SOLCAR . Likewise, SOLCAR may refuse the rental in case it considers that the driver is intoxicated or affected by any other type of narcotics that may limit the driving of the vehicle.
License driving license:
The minimum age of the driver is 21 years old, with a driving licence for more than 3 years.
Drivers under 25 years of age or with a driving licence between 1 and 4 years will pay an extra €8 incl. VAT per day, with a maximum of €160 incl. VAT per rental. It will also be necessary to deposit an excess of 300€ to be paid at the end of the rental period.

Groups I, J, K, K1, M & MA limited to:
- From 1 to 3 days 300 kms/day included.
- From 4 to 7 days 250 kms/day in included.
- More than 7 days 150 kms/day included.
Each extra kilometre will be charged at €0.25 incl. VAT.
Group R: limit depending on the rental period
Fuel:
SOLCAR delivers the vehicle with a full tank of fuel and the customer must return it full. If the customer does not return the vehicle with the agreed fuel, there will be a refuelling service charge of €15 (incl. VAT) plus missing fuel.
Duration of the rental:
The rental days will be calculated in periods of 24 hours from the exact time the customer has rented the vehicle until SOLCAR receives the vehicle, its keys and documentation. The courtesy period for the return of the vehicle shall be 59 minutes.
SOLCAR allows bookings with a maximum duration of 89 days. After this period the contract cannot be extended or a new contract made.
Long-term contracts must be renewed every 30 days at the latest, so all conditions, extras, etc. must be re-contracted.
In case of early return of the vehicle, SolCar will refund the amount of the days not used.
Contract Extensions:
The customer is obliged to return the vehicle on the date and at the time stated in the previous section. If the customer wishes to extend the rental period, he/she must go to the SOLCAR office to sign the extension. No contract can be extended by telephone or by any other means of electronic communication.
The price of the extension will be determined according to the tariff in force at the time of confirmation of the extension.
Loss or damage to the key:
The charge to the contract holder shall be the full amount of the key (min. €200 incl. VAT), plus any costs incurred as a result.
Special cleaning:
- A special cleaning charge will be made to the contract holder for the costs of an extra cleaning service due to the obviously dirty and unsuitable condition of the vehicle at the time of its return, with a minimum amount of €48.40 incl. VAT.
- Our vehicles are non-smoking vehicles. In the event of smoking residues and odours inside the vehicle, a cleaning and odour treatment charge of €60.50 incl. VAT will be applied in order to prepare the vehicle for the next rental.
- It is not permitted to use the vehicle to transport garden waste (such as soil, branches, grass, etc.) or construction materials (such as sand, rubble, cement, bricks, etc.). En caso de hacerlo, se aplicará una penalización fija de 100 € para cubrir los costes de limpieza y reacondicionamiento del vehicle.
In order for the company to make the special cleaning charge effective, this must be stated in the contract upon return of the vehicle.
Right of withdrawal:
The customer does not have the right to withdraw from the contract in accordance with consumer law, due to the type of service provided.
Article 103. Exceptions to the right of withdrawal.
The right of withdrawal shall not apply to contracts relating to:
1.- The provision of accommodation services for purposes other than serving as housing, transport of goods, vehicle rental, food or services related to leisure activities, if the contracts provide for a specific date or period of performance.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
- One Way Rentals:
One Way rentals are permitted between all SolCar branches. The corresponding charge for this service if the one way is from local offices to airports is €40 incl. VAT.
If it is from the airport to one of our local offices, the charge is 30€.
The charge between airports is €60 incl. VAT.
Baby seats and boosters:
Chairs must be booked in advance. The price is € 6 (incl. VAT) per day with a maximum of € 84 per rental (incl. VAT). SolCar does not offer child seats for babies between 0 and 9 months (Groups 1, 2 and 3).
- Departure abroad:
The vehicle is allowed to leave for the following countries: Germany, France, England, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Andorra and Monaco.
The departure of vehicles to countries other than those mentioned above is expressly prohibited. Departures abroad shall be permitted from any of SOLCAR’s branches.
To extend the insurance cover, €12.10 (incl. VAT) per day is payable on collection of the vehicle. The minimum charge is € 36,30 incl. VAT.
- Out of hours deliveries and returns:
SOLCAR offers an out-of-hours delivery and return service (22:00 to 08:00) at the airport branches. Bookings for delivery between these hours must have a valid flight number, mobile phone number and credit card number of the customer. The additional charge is €40 incl. VAT, payable on delivery of the vehicle.
The customer must ensure that the return of the vehicle does not coincide with these special hours, otherwise an additional charge of €40 including VAT will be applied, which must be paid upon return of the vehicle.
- Late return fee:
The return of the vehicle more than 59 minutes after the end time of the rental contract will incur a charge of €40 incl. VAT, or the amount corresponding to one day’s rental if this is less, if the delay in delivery exceeds four hours, in addition to the aforementioned amount, a day’s rental will be charged. For each day of delay in delivery, the customer will be charged €40 incl. VAT per day plus the rental days, and it will be understood that the customer is making an illegitimate use of the vehicle which may be reported.
